PARADISE LOST

She dreamt of her land
A once beautiful place
Where fields of crops grew
And the people were safe

Destroyed by war and famine
She calls it paradise lost
Where humans and cattle were slaughtered
And peoples lives were what it cost

She went back to her once beautiful home
Buildings and fields had been burnt
By the fires that they had set
Humanitarian was what she learnt

Although she trusted no-one
Caused from the death of her parents
The war took thousands of lives
And all happiness was abandoned

The fighting had now ended
Her dreams would never be replaced
Spirits now guarded paradise lost
Return to humanity was her only fear left to be faced

SECRET SMILE

As he whispered his hello's
And has his joys with his fellows
He always turned and smiled my way
With his stare, led me astray
The love in my heart for this one guy
Always brought a twinkle to my eye

Happiness I found when he was near
Forever to be lost is what I fear
The beauty of his mystified face
Always resembles the wind of grace
I love him dearly with my heart and soul
A fairytale that needs to be told

His shadow is with me, always in my mind
One day his love I shall find
In every man I meet on my way
His own image on them I will lay
For now I will capture any smile he gives
Until his love is sent by a kiss
