| SHATTERED
HEART
Page 60
The clouds that gather round the
setting sun;
Another human race has been won;
The child that lags behind the rest
fears nothing but save her innocence;
her thoughts lie too deep for tears
of her destroyed childhood years.
Though nothing can bring back the
hour
Sadness shed with the storm's shower;
Strength of what remains behind
but strength now she has to find;
tears from her grieving eye
tells the story with a lie.
Through wood and dale, the sacred
riven ran;
She wandered carelessly unmeasurably to man;
all that was left were visions once saw,
of her dreams which were now left torn;
She grew up in hell fighting for happiness
but her shattered heart just brought her sadness. |
THE BLOOD RED ROSE
Page 71
Its petals shaded the colour of blood
its thorns as sharp as a spear;
When those leaves start to fall
the rose recognises when winter is near.
He took that rose, for a token of love;
picked straight from the wild bush;
To show his devotion to that girl
and the thunder fell to a silent hush.
As she took that rose
with her lover's demand;
The sharpest thorn upon stem
stabbed stright into her hand.
The blood dripped elegantly
upon the bed of petals;
As she shed a tearful cry,
the blood red rose, withered and died.
